Turning Winds is a family-run therapeutic boarding school and residential treatment center in northwestern Montana, founded in 2002 by John Baisden Sr. and John Baisden Jr. The program serves adolescents ages 13 to 18 who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. Its Integrated Therapeutic Curriculum combines clinical therapy, accredited academics, and outdoor experiential education within one coordinated program. Students participate in activities such as hiking, biking, boating, and other outdoor experiences alongside personalized academic support. Turning Winds also places strong emphasis on family involvement through therapy, workshops, and parent support. The program is accredited by Cognia and the Joint Commission and typically provides six-to-nine-month treatment programs.
