Projects are where Arc Raiders quietly turns a good extraction run into a hard economic call. You might come home with enough loot to upgrade a build, sell for Coins, or preserve for the next tough raid-but that's why ARC Raiders Items deserve a second look before they leave your stash. Expedition 5 is less about racing through a task board and more about deciding which version of progress matters to you: current loadout strength or the permanent gains waiting after departure.
The Expedition 5 Clock
The current preparation period began after the July 21, 2026 departure, while the next listed departure window opens on September 21, 2026. There is no confirmed closing date yet. That gives you room to farm intelligently instead of dumping your best gear into the caravan the moment you unlock a page. Finish construction early if you can, but remember that completing the caravan and choosing to depart are separate actions.
| Project Area | What It Demands | What Players Miss |
|---|---|---|
| Foundation | Basic parts and Magnets | High stack counts eat stash space |
| Core Systems | Cloth, Tape, Components | "Ordinary" loot becomes a wall |
| Framework | ARC and specialized parts | Low-count items can have rough RNG |
| Load Stage | Category-based Coin value | One full bar cannot cover another |
Build a Reserve, Not a Junk Pile
The first four pages demand exact pieces, which makes them far less forgiving than the Load Stage. Foundation asks for 15 Magnets, 80 ARC Alloy, 100 Plastic Parts, and 150 Metal Parts; later pages include items like Radios, Rocketeer Drivers, Bastion Cells, and Magnetic Accelerators. Don't rely on memory. Make a reserved pile the second you extract, then treat everything outside it as spendable stock.
- 1. Lock exact Project materials before selling or crafting.
- 2. Keep duplicate rare components until every construction page is complete.
- 3. Feed flexible category value with surplus, not your preferred raid kit.
- 4. Check each Load Stage bar separately after several successful extractions.
The Load Stage Is the Real Inventory Test
The fifth page needs 100,000 Coin in Survival Items, 150,000 in Provisions, 200,000 in Combat Items, and 300,000 in Materials. That 750,000 total looks intimidating, but the bigger trap is category imbalance. Players often fill Combat value naturally through ammo, weapons, grenades, and mods, then discover their Materials line is miles behind. At least in my experience, this is the stage where a cluttered stash suddenly proves it had a purpose.
Don't Turn In Your Best Raiding Week
There's no DPS prize for donating the weapon, shield, or utility setup that keeps your runs consistent. Use low-use duplicates first, especially items you have already replaced with better options. You can also compare surplus against cheap ARC Items while planning what to preserve, but Project progress should never leave you unable to play the raids needed to finish it. A nearly empty stash makes every bad spawn and failed extract feel worse.
Departure Is a Reset With Conditions
Expedition departure resets Raider-specific progress such as level, inventory, Coins, Blueprints, workshop progress, quests, and the Raider Den. You keep account-facing records including maps, Codex entries, Raider Tokens, Cred, Merits, cosmetics, Trials progress, and prior Expedition benefits. Earlier departures awarded permanent stash slots, while consecutive completions could grant temporary boosts to repairs, experience, and Scrappy materials. From what I've seen, that makes Expedition best for players whose current Raider has already reached a comfortable endgame plateau-not players still trying to establish their first reliable loadout.
My Practical Call for Expedition 5
Prepare for the option first. Secure every exact material, sort the four value categories, and keep enough gear to enjoy regular Arc Raiders runs through September. Then wait for the live departure screen to confirm the reward list, objectives, sign-up rules, and closing time. Expedition 4 used damage thresholds of 5,000, 10,000, 30,000, 50,000, and 100,000 for temporary Blueprint and permanent Token rewards, but Expedition 5 has no confirmed matching table. Build the caravan because readiness is useful; depart only when the reset feels like a payoff rather than a punishment.
