After the July 14, 2026 update, Mythic farming is less about hoping for one lucky boss kill and more about making each Kurast run count. The removal of the Mythic Unique equip limit has changed build planning overnight, so demand for strong D4 items is naturally much higher. Torment 12 is where this route starts to make sense. The enemies hit harder, sure, but the payoff is what matters: Armed Mythic Tributes still carry a serious chance of producing Mythic rewards, even though they no longer promise one every time. Don't burn those tributes on a rushed run. Treat each one like a ticket that needs the right map setup behind it.
Build the Tribute Supply First
A lot of players jump straight into Kurast with whatever tribute they have, then wonder why the farm feels rough. It's better to build a small stockpile before you start. Horadric Cube fusion is the dependable route: blue tributes feed into rare versions, rare versions move toward legendary ones, and five legendary Armed Tributes create the item needed for a proper Mythic-focused session. The process isn't glamorous, but it keeps the farm moving when random drops dry up. Here's the basic loop in a simple list:
• Gather common tribute drops.
• Fuse them upward through the Cube.
• Save legendary Armed Tributes instead of spending them one at a time.
• Combine five when you're ready to run Kurast seriously.
Set Up War Plans Before You Enter
The important War Plans choice sits in the Kurast branch. Put points into the left-side route until you unlock Sewer Sludge. That node changes the run from a plain dungeon clear into a reward-multiplier hunt. Beacon activations can call in Portal Pranksters, and killing one copies the reward chest waiting at the end. That's the whole reason this method feels so good when it clicks. One tribute can lead to several Mythic reward chests instead of one. It won't happen every run, but a map with multiple pranksters can drop several Mythic Uniques in a single clear.
Quick Reward Comparison
Run condition | What you do | Expected value.
Few or no Portal Pranksters | Leave before the final boss | Preserve the Armed Mythic Tribute.
Several Portal Pranksters defeated | Kill the boss and claim copied chests | Best chance at multiple Mythic rewards.
No Sewer Sludge unlocked | Finish normally if needed | Lower ceiling, fewer copied chests.
The key is that the boss isn't always the priority. The beacon results are. You'll notice this pretty quickly once you've had a bad run with only one prankster and a great one with three or four.
Reset Bad Maps Without Regret
Run the dungeon with your eyes on every beacon, not just the fastest route to floor three. If Portal Pranksters show up early and you've beaten enough of them, finish the boss and open every copied chest. If the map gives you almost nothing, don't force the clear. Open the map, use War Plans fast travel to jump to the next queued activity, and the Kurast instance resets without wasting the tribute's potential. That reset habit is what separates casual clears from efficient farming. Players looking to D4 items buy for a new build can use the same approach to target more high-value reward rolls while keeping their best tributes for maps that actually pay out.
