The group stages of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 have concluded with plenty of drama—most notably the shocking exit of cricket powerhouse Australia. We now move into the Super 8 stage, starting February 21, 2026.
The eight qualified teams have been divided into two groups of four. Each team will play every other team in their group once, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

Will India play Pakistan in the Super 8?
No. Because India and Pakistan are in separate groups (Group 1 and Group 2 respectively), they will not face each other in this round. An arch-rivalry clash is only possible if both teams qualify for the Semi-finals or meet in the Final on March 8.

Defending champions India enter the Super 8 with a flawless record from the group stage. They kick off against South Africa in what is expected to be a repeat of the 2024 Final intensity.

Tournament Format Note
The top two teams from each Super 8 group will head to the Semi-finals scheduled for March 4 and 5. If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals or final, those specific matches will be held at the R.
